Can I use this gas valve with my propane tank + lp regulator?

I'm trying to build an automated HERMS system and I was wondering if I could use a standard propane tank on the VR8200A gas valve by purchasing a low pressure propane regulator to screw onto my propane tank (I currently use a HP regulator that came with my banjo burner).

Also efficiency is another question I have about low pressure propane- if I buy an 60K low pressure burner, is that going to eat propane faster than a HP burner of the same BTUs?

For the Honeywell it doesn't matter how you get down to the 1/2 psi / 11"water column pressure so long as you're not running higher because it can blow out the valve. The issue could be that if you run multiple burners branched off the one low pressure regulator you may end up with a lack of gas going to the burners to get an effective flame. If running multiple (I run three jet burners at one time once in a while, two batches at the same time) I would suggest a higher pressure reg (adjustable perhaps) coming off the tank, and then a seperate low pressure valve for each Honeywell valve. Sounds excessive perhaps, but it guarantees that my main line is very well pressurized and each burner has enough gas to run at the same time ( if desired). If you end up using a low pressure regulator right off the tank I'd just make sure it is capable of handling the much higher pressures coming direct from the tank.
