Well, you need to take the gravity of the wort into account, so that would include any contribution from the grains.

I just let hopville do the numbers.

be sure to set your Batch size (gallons) and your Boil size (gallons), or your calculated IBU will be WAY off.

Batch size = post boil volume
Boil size = pre boil volume
