Calculating efficiency?

I am wondering how you guys calculate your mash efficiency? I mean if you use a hydrometer after the mash/sparge the wort is still around 140F what is the correction used for this high of a temp I found a chart in John Palmers book but it only goes to 120F. I don’t want to wait for it to cool as I am ready to begin the boil at this point.

I use the calculator in Promash to adjust my hydrometer readings. Beersmith has one as well.

Just cool the sample in some running water in your sink. Takes all of about 2 minutes.

Wow sometimes we really over think things. This is a great suggestion!
