Buffer 5.2 Question

Quick question about buffer 5.2. The instructions say "dissolve in a small volume of water, then add to the mash." I've been pretty much doing this every time, but it's semi tedious. Is it possible to just add this to the mash water before adding it to the tun?

YUP - dump and stir - I think they are doing what I do for making gravy - just so it will dissolve easier but I dump and stir.

When I remember, I add it to the HLT which contains all the water I need between the strike and sparge volumes.
