Okay so I am making my 3rd batch ever, and it is the first time I am creating my own recipe (via BeerSmith). I want to keep it simple, and I want to make it taste good (obviously). I've already done a lot of critiquing, so hopefully this will be the final product, let me know how it is!

6lb Light Dry Extract
1lb Caramel/Crystal Malt 40L
.25lb Chocolate Malt
1.50oz Cascade (60min)
1oz Cascade (5min)

Wyeast American Ale II (1272)

It looks good to me. There are a few things I would do differently but that is just based on my taste. Overall, this looks like a good solid recipe and I think you will be happy with the outcome. :)

Recipe looks good. Simple and a good starting point.

Welcome to homebrewing and HBT. Lot of good people here willing to share their experience with you.
