brewmometer vs fermentap

I'm finally getting my first big boy brew kettle and I wanted to know if there was clearly a better thermometer out of these two or if it just personal preference?

They are both made by companies other than the name painted on them. And that's what you are paying for with both of them... the name. Any thermometer that is temperature correction adjustable will do. You can find thermometers at half the price on ebay.

i assume the same goes for ball valve/bulkhead assemblies?

yup... kettles, burners, etc.

Our stands are actually purchased as a powder mix we just add water to...
