I'm going to Ecuador next month (Quito, Cuenca and Guayaquil) and was hoping to find any commercial breweries to visit. I thought I read somewhere that Pilsener by Cervecería Nacional had a facility to visit but can't find anything for it. I was hoping to visit one of their larger national brands vs. a one-off small microbrewery, but would do the latter if that was the only thing available.

I appreciate any suggestions or insights anyone can share. Thank you kindly.

Buy yourself a Pilsener @ any local Tienda, and enjoy it for what it is.

I hear it's not a lot different @ the brewery.......:D

That said, ( and don't shoot me!), a Budweiser that is brewed in Guayaquil is worlds apart from their product Stateside!

In Quito, my favorite is Two Barrel Brewing, along with Sabai Brewing, Paramo has some good German styles.

If you make it to the Ibarra / Otavalo / Cotacachi area, reach out and I can clue you to several local brewers near here, ( where I live).

"Artesenal" brewing is a thing that is really picking up here, and was pretty much non-existent when I started visiting here approx. 8 years ago.

The national brands are Pilsener, Club, ( think lame ass Heineken), and Brahma.

I'd recommend, as above, just buy those locally, and try them.......But that's just my take on it.

Buen Viaje!

Thanks for the initial feedback. So my interest behind this is less to find unique quality beers but more for the experience of seeing the operation of a new and different place and try a tasting...it's kinda a checklist/goal for each new country I visit. I've noticed and have had experience with many AB InBev and Heineken owned brands across the world are set up with something for the public. So I wanted to start with the big guys/major brands first, then if they were not an option, try to find a smaller brewer/brewery that might be operating in one of the 3 cities I'll be visiting.

If you're on FB, you can find that the commercial, and breweries that I mentioned, have their on pages on there, and that would get the proper response in regards to tours.
