Hello,

I am with www.starchefs.com a food and beverage focused industry trade magazine. We are currently heading to the Philly area for our Rising stars awards. We head to four cities a year seek out and honor upcoming Chefs, Mixologists, Brewers, and Winemakers.

I'd love to use you guys as a resource for recommendations of new and upcoming brewers in the Philly area. Breweries that have either been in business for about 5 years, have a production run around 20,000 bbl/yr or are doing some very unique and cool things.

The selection process results in an awards ceremony and party where we honor all of the winners in late Feb.

Feel free to send over any brewers you think we should taste with in the Philly area.

The event is also open to the public so if you guys are in the area and interested we will be posting the venue and ticket info soon at this website. http://www.starchefs.com/chefs/rising_stars/index.shtml

Thank You,
Alex

Yards, Victory and Flying Fish ( just across the river in NJ) To name a few more. All make ggod brews.

If you are looking for rising stars you have to check out Tired Hands brewery in Ardmore, I keep hearing from numerous brewers that they are putting out the best beer in the area right now, I also like Round Guys out in Lansdale. I wouldn't waste your time with Triumph their beers all taste watered down.

Seconded on church brewworks....although its in pittsburgh about 5 hours away.

That's the kind of quality advise you get from a Southern boy who's driven through PA twice :tank:

Earth Bread and Brewery in Mt. Airy has been open for over 5 years. Awesome beers, even better flat breads...

Thanks everybody appreciate all of the suggestions and we will be making our way out to about 10 breweries this weekend, though sadly not out to pittsburgh but that is now on my personal shortlist next time I am out that way.

The event is also open to the public if anybody is in philly on Feb 21st keep and eye out here for tickets
