Currently brewing a MoreBeer Janet's Brown. When inventorying the kit, it appears that they shorted me an ounce of Cascade hops.

The recipe calls for 1.5 oz. at 10 min & 1.5 oz. at 1 min.

Should I reduce the addition to 1.0 oz. at each time, or reduce the 1 min addition to 0.5 oz., keeping the 10 min. addition at 1.5 oz.?

Per TastyBrew recipe calculator the difference in IBU between the 2 options is only 2, but not sure what the difference in hop flavor/aroma would be.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You could also increase your boil volume and utilize the late extract addition method to maximize your hops utilization.

reduce the late addition....you will need the extra .5 oz on the front end for bitterness

Thanks for responses. Doing a full volume boil, so will reduce the late addition. The recipe also calls for a dry hop of 2.0 oz. centennial, so i should get some good aroma there.

Thanks.
