I came across, as far as I can tell, some good, inexpensive brew pots. Could someone with an experienced eye check these out? The cheapest I've found a 40 quart SS stock pot for is right around 200 dollars. The following links, although I believe them to be intended for "Craw Dads", look like they should work just as well. Their 44 quart brew pot is only 99 bucks. Am I missing something?

I'm looking at shifting to all grain and am looking for the "end all" brew pot.

It's bigger brother:

Nope...you're right on track. Keep in mind, you'll need a ball valve at some point, which will cost you about $35 for a weldless bulkhead kit. You can buy the kettle with the spigot already in place at Morebeer, Northern Brewer, etc. If you have the $$$, this would save you time. Morebeer has free shipping.

60 quarts is the perfect size, IMHO. Big enough to do 10 gallon batches (if you ever decided to), and still have some space. Here's another good site for pots: http://www.acitydiscount.com/60-Qt-Stainless-Steel-Stock-Pot-Update-International-SPS-60.0.50038.1.1.htm

Good luck! :mug:

At those prices, you might look around for a legal used keg...probably get it, a ball valve, and someone to cut the top off for less than $200.

otherwise, yeah those will work, and I'd probably find someone to put a sanitary welded spout on it, rather than going weldless on such a spendy stock pot.
