Brew Kettle Rust on Weld inside near handles.

Saw a brew kettle on a return counter today. The original owner had boiled water in it and rust appeared inside in a patterned like a weld. Is this a common problem? It was a puny kettle, stainless.

i would imagine its something in the wire they welded it with. i wouldnt have returned it but thats just me

That's what I think too, sure hope it does not sit idle on a clearance table waiting for a good home.
