I'm new to this whole thing, but I'm thinking about adding a spigot and thermometer to my brew kettle. I found THIS for the spigot, but I can't find similar instructions for the thermometer.

Is there anything else I should consider adding? I'd like to do it all at once.

So really what I would like is 1) advice on whether these additions (or any others) are worthwhile, and 2) advice on how to do it.

Thanks!

Also, if these have been discussed extensively, a link to the discussion would be great...I just can't find anything other than discussions on how to add a spigot.

A spigot is definitely worthwhile...once you've used one, you won't want to go back to pouring or siphoning wort out of your kettle.

While it's not as important, I do like having a built-in thermometer as well. I recirculate wort through my plate chiller back into the kettle, and just watch the thermometer until it indicates pitching temp. Mandatory, no. Very convenient, yes!
