i was thinking about concocting a brew to use up some leftover grains and hops. here's what i have:

UK roasted barley: 15.6oz
British mild malt: 8.1oz
Barley flakes: 12oz
Chocolate malt: 5.4oz
CaraMunich: 8.3oz
Pilsner malt: 2.1oz
Wheat malt: 1lb 2oz

Hallertau: .5oz
Northern brewer: .5oz
Bramling: .75oz

I'd like to use as much of this stuff as I can. Any suggestions on quantities, base malt, or yeast?

thanks!

Well that's a small amount... usually you'll need pounds for a 5 gallon batch. I could guess try and add as much of the larger quantity malts together into an application that calculates it all for you, and then start reducing water til you get to an acceptable OG. Its going to be some weird stuff, but it will be beer ;)

In fact you made me want to play, BeerAlchemy says this if I do it w/ 2 gallons of beer instead of 5:

Oh cool. Thanks for doing that. I need to get one of those apps.

As for the small batch... I did want to do a 3 gallon batch at least. I could just add more base malt right? Perhaps more of the UK mild?

Yeah, I don't know how I would brew without a app like Beersmith. I guess id need to learn some more math :p

i'll have to download beersmith. i just discovered there's an os x build. i tried beer alchemy and liked it initially, until it started randomly losing my ingredient lists. :(
