Brass fitting

I just installed a new spigot in my fermenter and the nut is brass. Does anyone know it the brass will affect the beer or yeast. Thanks

I use a brass ball-valve and have not noticed any problems. I don't ferment with it though. You may want to clean it.

I know boiling it in ketchup will clean it. Or a 3:1 ratio of vinegar and peroxide for about 15 minutes. I don't know how safe that last method is when you plan on using it with food though.
