Hi all,
I was given some Brambling Cross hops and need suggestions on a recipe.
I believe and ESB would be appropriate.

I have the following recipe but have not brewed it yet.
Any thoughts?

10lbs 2row
1lbs 60L
.5lbs Carapils

5AAU Willamette 60min
2AAU Tetts 15min
2.5AAU Willamette 15min
1.5oz Tetts steep 5mins post boil
1.5oz Willamette steep 5mins post boil

Wyeast 1084

Mash at 150 deg.

No Bramling in that recipe :)

To be honest it lacks a bit of flavour. Is quite mild tasting as hops go, though it has a nice aroma. Just don't expect a really powerful hop taste, it is on the more subtle end of the scale I found.

I have a recipe for a fantastic Imperial bitter that uses Brambling Cross.

I have not brewed it yet, but plan on doing it soon. The grain bill is exact, and the hops are correct, but I don't have the exact hops schedule so feel free to adjust that.

IMHO using the bramling cross only as a bittering addition will not really tell you much about that hop. As it stands, this recipe is all about EKG - you could use pretty much use any hop at 60 minutes and I doubt you would notice the difference

If you want to use Bramling Cross, use it as a flavor and/or aroma hop

Yeah well my bad anyway. I just double checked and the bittering addition is Glacier. Not sure why I had Brambling in my Promash recipe.

You could still use it in this recipe, just sub it for the EKG.
