I'm brewing a barley wine soon, and I'd like to eventually use as christmas gifts. Thought it'd look nice under the tree.
I'd be using those Martinelli sparkling cider bottles. I believe its just a standard bottle cap under all that wrapping, so no air exchange. Also it should hold pressure since its original contents are also carbonated.
I've seen a few threads asking about those bottles, but I'm curious about their long term viability. I've never aged a beer for extended periods, so I'm not sure what complications I might run into here.
bonus question: wax seals? I've seen a few that look quite nice on google images, but I could see them being a messy disaster.
Thanks in advance.
