Will be bottling 1st vino in a few weeks & have read various places about bottle shock that can happen to newly bottled vinos. Anyone care to share their experience & feedback on this phenomenon? Does it happen to all vinos? How long does it last? Tips/tricks?

Cheers & Happy Memorial Day weekend [emoji111]

May not be the best person to offer any comment but I suspect that bottle shock is caused as much by what would be very recent additions of K-meta and K-sorbate and the actions of racking wine from a carboy to a pail to bottles which then allows out of solution CO2 and so disturbs all kinds of particles that had been somewhat asleep as your wine quietly aged, so the wine needs some time to allow all the hubbub to quieten down

the analogy I use is that bottling the wine is similar to grasping a individual by the neck and shaking the devil out of him. similar activity is occurring to the wine when bottling. let the wine sit for about two to three weeks before laying down to age of for even tasting the wine.

Speaking of Bottle Shock -- just saw the 2008 flick by same name -- good one [emoji111]
