Cerise Cassee goes on at CBC on 11/14. I love this little winter window they've had the last couple years where that and You Enjoy My Stout are on at the same time.
Except when they release infected YEMS and roll with it.

Can't wait to get one of those sexy NS wooden phone cases. Finally a silver lining on switching to the iphone

You Enjoy My Stout bottles are rolling off the line. I am beyond stoked about this. As long as they're not infected, of course.

Was this year's version aged in "used Cerise Cassee" barrels also

It was the 2012 that was the problem. Took me around two months to get someone at the bar to admit it wasn't intended. I will be going through the label with a fine toothed comb. There better not be any word of "a slight tartness on the finish."

I'm just busting their balls. But seriously, I was googling You Enjoy My Stout and some beer review site came up that said it was aged in used CC barrels, and it was intentional, and that's why it was tart.

Uh huh.

What I heard from Will about the 2012 infection was that one barrel was infected in 2012 and he took the chance of blending all it in with the non infected barrels. I believe he regrets the decision.

Anyone have any idea if stonington will last til this weekend?

Anybody hit up Trillium today? Busy? Thinking about stopping by tomorrow assuming there is any Stonington left.

I'm curious if it is any good. Their "wild" stuff has been underwhelming.

Went to the Trillium dinner at Lord Hobo and had it there. It was good...one of their better wilds, but I also haven't been big on them. Was told the barrel held a cranberry liqueur. A little booze and a little tart. Won't blow your mind, but I enjoyed it.

It was annoying that they were being so cagey about it. For an anticipated annual release, it was a pretty wild left turn. In hindsight I think they would have been better off releasing it as a sour stout one-off of sorts.

Went around 5:30, it was me and someone's mom buying beer for them. Didn't seem like they got much traffic earlier either. I bought a few bottles and there were tons left in the back, should last a few days. It's pretty tasty by the way, better than their previous attempts at sours. Might go back and grab some more.

Will was up front with me right away and I have never found it to be different.

I never spoke with Will about it, but that's encouraging. Hell, that was the first I've heard about the blend. The bartenders I spoke with had an "it is what it is" approach and I watched Ben (who I generally think is a great dude) mock a guy who commented on it. ("Oh noooooooo, it's sour!) I really love the beer and it was just a bummer knowing I'd be writing off that vintage and waiting another 12 months.

I got a bottle of Stonington last night. It was pretty good and my friends liked it. Definitely one of the better wilds they have made.

Apparently stoddards has BCBS BCBCS and BCBVS on Wednesday for the release before thanksgiving. Can anyone confirm this it is it leg pulling?
