I don't need to boil before dry hopping, do I? Am I suppose to dry hop for the entire 2 weeks in the secondary? The alchohol should in there should be high enough to kill of any badies so I shouldn't have to boil but I wanted to make sure first.

I had a hell of a time siphoning over from the primary. I didn't use a hop bag so my siphon tube kept clogging. I skimmed some of the leaf hops off the top but there was still alot more in the bottom. I lost about a gallon of liquid/hops/trub.

You don't need to boil just go straight in with your hops and leave it until you transfer for bottling/kegging. When you siphon off for bottling/kegging put a stainless scrubby on the end of your racking cane it will make it easier to deal with the whole leaf hops.

Boiling the hops will drive off some of the unique aromas and flavors that dry hopping gives you. Give the hops the full two weeks. Carboys make dry hopping somewhat more difficult.

Do you mean a Brillo pad? How big of a piece? Do I need to sanitize it first?

Not a Brillo, they have soap in them. Just a plain SS scrubby. Use the whole thing, that's the easiest way. It's a good idea to clean and sanitize the scrubby.

No--scrubby pads, also known as Chore Boys. Copper is more common than stainless. Find them with the dish soap in the supermarket or at Walmart.
