I am in the process of starting a new batch of Blueberry Wine.
I just took out of the freezer 30lb of Blueberries and 15lb of mixed grapes(Concord,Chambourcin,Ives). Total 45lbs
Many of the recipes call for 3 to 5lb of blueberry per gallon.

I have to add sugar and everything else tonight after it thaws,so I need ideas ASAP.

My question- Should I add water and if so how much for my 45lb of Blueberry/grape mix? How big a batch would you recommend I make?
I have read many Blueberry recipes and not many do not add water for Blueberry wine.

Your 45lb of berries would do good for 2 five gallon batches. Blueberry wine tastes fresher and blueberrier with the addition of lemon. I would also add the juice and zest of 5 lemons in each 5 gallon batch. Pectic enzyme is also important for full flavor and color extraction. And yes I would top up each batch with water.

I use about 3-3.5lbs berries per gallon for my wine. And Arpolis has nailed it when he says to use lemon, it takes it from a good wine to a great wine. Also I found that aging blueberry for about 6 months is ideal.

Here is the finished wine for an idea of color
