Do you like it over air-locks?

I was at Ballast Point with friends and decided to pick up 4 1/2' of 1" tubing. It fits into the mouth of the carboy but I am wondering if it is really sealed like an air-lock. All thoughts would be great.

1" ID vinyl hose stuck right in the carboy neck with one end in some sanitizer

Do you like it over air-locks?

its beats cleaning up a mess and I switch to an airlock after a few days

Wow thanks for the quick response. I'm using it now on a berry cider in my 6 gal carboy. I like it because I don't have to constantly refill the airlock. Looking forward to it.
