I just brewed a hefe and used a blow off tube because things starting going CRAZY. Can I leave this setup in until fermentation is done or should I switch back to an actually airlock? Thx.

Leave it as long as you need to.

I've got a black IPA that I left hooked up to the blow off for a week. Things calmed down, so I put the airlock on it - came home from work to a plugged airlock - it had gotten happy again. (this particular batch did that twice on me! - and it's sitting at 65F)

I only change back if I need the blowoff tube for a new batch, or I want to lessen the space taken up with the blowoff assembly for some reason.

Keep in mind that your blowoff tube IS an airlock. Just a really big one.

Pez.
