I’m curious about the background of the author and general content/outline/purpose of this publication and if it differs significantly from accepted brewing practice now. Was this written for homebrewers?

I have a copy of “Old Country Wisdom & Know-How” reproduced from the late 60’s/ early 70’s publication (it is the size of an old road atlas). One small section covers beer making, and the homespun methods are interesting. Not poking fun by any means. It is nice to see how far home brewing has come but makes me wonder if we have jumped the shark.
