I am in search for a larger BK so I can move away from split boils... in my understanding having a shorter/wider pot lends itself to greater boil-off versus a similar capacity BK that is tall/slender. Is this correct?

TIA.

There is actually a thread on here where we calculated how many watts/BTUs of heat it will take to get a specific boil off rate, in a specific vessel, with a specific volume present. There is some amazing info on here!
