BJCP Style / Black IPA Category question

I've never entered a competition, but felt like it might be a good way for me to start getting more accurate critiques of my beers to help me improve.

While most of what I brew falls under a pretty specific category, Black IPA does not.

My understanding is it's in discussion to add it as a style, presumably a sub style of Category 10 or 14.

In the mean time, where is the best place to put these? 23?

Also, any advice as I've never done this is highly appreciated. We don't have too many in my area, so I'll probably be mailing some via FedEx.

Most likely in 23 until there is a "style" defined.

I prefer mine to not be very roasty. I get most of my color and flavor from Midnight Wheat or Carafa Special.
