Hey Guys,
I just had a quick question. I was originally intending on brewing a 3 gallon batch of an all-grain ordinary bitter, but am deciding to do go ahead a do a 5 gallon batch instead. Now, equipment currently limits me to maxing out at mashing about 5 pounds of grain, for which the recipe calls for about 7 pounds altogether with spec. malts. I've initially purchased 4 pounds out of the now 6 pounds needed for base malt, so my question is, what would be the proper amount of DME to use to make up for that last 2 pounds of grain? Also, does anyone have a preferred yeast for this style? Thanks!
