Anyone see any issue with using biab in a regulator cooler without modifying anything to hold temp? Then draining and batch sparging x2 to get volume?

Sure that would work, cooler will hold temps well, certainly well enough! Just add your strike water 10-15 degrees hotter than strike temp to preheat the cooler. Add grain after settling to strike temp.

Why do you want to sparge X2?

Sure it may gain you a couple points, but is it worth it?

That's what I do but in a round beverage cooler. No false bottom or bazooka screen just mash in the bag. Pull it up and spin the bag to squeeze, works like a charm.

Not necessarily going to sparge twice but if it could hold enough water may only do one or none.

Just curious does a round cooler give you enough volume for a full volume mash?

I used "can u mash it" and a 12lb bill with full volume is just a bit over 10G of space.
Am i missing something or do you batch sparge in kettle after more concentrated mash?
