Hi ppl! I'm a homebrewer and cider making, but now want to try some winemaking trial. So, do you think I could make a medium quality wine using grape juice from supermarket? I mean whole grape juice.
Would be worth to add some wood on the aging stage?
What's the best yeast you would recommend?

I always tell people who start wine making for the first time is too start with supermarket juice that is pure and no preservatives..
the main reason is low start up price vs say trying to make an Amarone on your first try)
I almost alway recommend welches cocord grape juice. as it is inexpensive and gives a nice product. Personally i feel concord grape wine is very under rated, at most wine places it is in the lower price wine section but it is great for the price. perhaps your first batch skip the wood. I dont know what yeast you have but Red Star montrachet works well with welches.

here something to help with yeast selection
