I am just getting started in this. Im going to be buying a kit this week. I was looking online at this kit http://www.midwestsupplies.com/products/ProdByID.aspx?ProdID=6874

There is a homebrew store about an hour from which sells this kit http://homebrewemporium.com/bkits.htm

I was just wondering if there is any advantage to the $95 kit as opposed to the $79 from midwest. I looks to me as they are almost the same but again i am very new at this and could be missing something.

Thanks so much for your time.

I got this kit from Midwest Supplies and I really like it. It's the same as the one you posted but with 2 5 Gallon better bottle carboys. This way you can have one batch in a primary fermenter and 2 in a secondary fermenters. Good for a constant beer supply! Plus, it's only 109.95

Also, the DVD the send is actually very good. I really enjoyed it. Especially the extract portion of it. Very informative.

austinhomebrew.com plenty of good recipes anything you want and very good instructions, I would do a pale ale
