So I was attempting to input my cider recipe into beersmith and found that I had to manually add all the juices to the database. I came up with this formula I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
((( [grams of sugar per concentrate] /2) * 128) / 453.59)*100.00= % yield of grain for beersmith 2
so far I have done apple juice and grape juice and it seems to be very accurate.
((( [grams of sugar per concentrate] /2) * 128) / 453.59)*100.00= % yield of grain for beersmith 2
- grams of sugar from each concentrate are divided by 2 because most concentrates are 2 oz serving size
- the 128 is ounces per one gallon
- 453.59 is the conversion from grams to pounds to get pounds per gallon
- then I multiply everything by 100 to get the percent to enter into beersmith
