I will be living in Fairfax, VA for a month while I do a job in Reston, VA. I'm wondering if any of you locals can recommend brewpubs, homebrew shops, microbreweries, or any other hot spots for me to visit during my stay...

Unfortunately I don't think the Marriott people would appreciate me homebrewing in my room, even if I do have a kitchenette...

Yeah I forgot all about that place... I had planned on hopping over to Annapolis one weekend just for sightseeing, maybe I'll swing by there. Thanks for the reminder!

Anyone else have suggestions? I know there's at least 2 or 3 VA residents on this board, where are you guys hiding? ;)

Sam and I both live much farther south than Fairfax. In fact, there are only about 2 places I'd even recommend if you got down this far, the Bier Garten in Portsmouth and the Greenleaf Cafe in Williamsburg.
I don't know up north very well.
If you are working in Reston/Fairfax, look up a Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner after work some night. They usually have a good selection of beers and of course pretty awesome wings. Try the Thai. :D
Not sure if one is close enough though.
