Hey guys,

Wasn't sure where to post this but who out there uses some sort of beer related app for their phone. Whether it be for podcasts or creating recipes.

I love an app I downloaded called BreweryMap. Allows you to pinpoint breweries around your location and also along a route for a road trip.

I have Droid and use the following regularly in my brew days

Homebrew Calculator - Mostly for calculating expected ABV or for temp corrections)
Stopwatch&Timer (yes it is the program name) - Has programmable timers you can set up and as long as you return to homescreen and not truly exit then it saves the timers for use any time you open it.

Thats it, on the computer for recipe formulation I use QBrew. I know basically what I am looking for and just need a basic calculation of where I stand as well as a recipe filing system that is easy to manage and free (I am a cheapass right now) so this fits the bill.

i use (android)
bjcp droid (style guidelines)
brew timer (for hop additions ect, helps me remember the irish moss)
brewing assistant (for creating/brainstorming recipes on the go)
Brewzor calculator (really useful tools in here like strike temp, gravity correction, carbonation ect...)

I'm using the new beersmith app. He hasn't released the full version yet but I already love it. I can drop my recipes onto the cloud from my laptop and then pull them up from my phone. It has a nice built in timer for mashing and boil with alerts for every hop addition.

Other than that I use brewzor to double check my calculations. Also use it for things like hydrometer correction and efficiency calculations.

I use BrewTimer for my brews... Takes a couple minutes to set up but is worth it in my opinion... Takes the guess work out of the whole process and prevents those screw-ups that we know never happen

EDIT: When I say set-up you basically input the steps of your brewday (hop additions, when to add chiller for sanitation, Irish moss, etc..) and you start the time at the beginning of your boil and it alerts you when its time for the next addition. It also saves the setup for each brew so you can use it multiple times if you brew the same thing.

i like untappd and beer citizen.

not really for brewing but logging beers and taking tasting notes
