Did any of you old enough to remember when they came out think they would last this long? Here is a link to their newest release (streaming). It is all instrumental.

Thanks for the link, cool stuff - very vibey.

No, I didn't think they'd last. I hated them at first 'cause they weren't rock :rockin: , but I was a convert after I gave them a listen. Still, that was over 20 years ago, I never woulda thunk it.

I was a bit too young but I am sure that inevitably they would have attracted enough of some sort of croud to support their growth.

Nice link.

Ok, that makes sense. I saw that they were on tour again today on ticketmaster. I had thought they had retired or something.

I still remember when License to Ill came out. I think I was 10 or 11 so it was the coolest thing in the world then

I have followed them for a couple of decades, as a brewer in his mid thirties, when I first heard these guys in my youth, I thought they were the best! I still follow them and listen to license to ill as often as possible!!!

Too drunk to click the link.... :drunk:

So, posting under the influence on the Beasties alone....

I give the boys credit, they've lasted, AND reinvented themselves better than most bands from their original era could ever hope for.

And they're still relevant...

However...

"Paul's Boutique" remains the Beasties' Tour De Force....

I can't get SWMBO's mac to stream it. I'll have to try it Monday at work.

Some of their pre-Licensed to Ill stuff was really weird. By brother got a copy of Beastie Groove off Hard Rock (1984). And a friend of mine tracked down Cookie Puss (1983) which had some really weird Dub Reggae.
