Hey All,

I want to convert my keggle to an e-keggle and would like to build the most basic controller possible. I found a PJ Diagram for a 4500 watt - no pump controller that looks like it would be just about perfect for me. I have 2 questions:

Wire size is not given in the diagram. Can anybody help me out and show me what size wire needs to be used where?

The E-Stop circuit has a fuse and a couple of resistors connected in series. How do I physically make those connections? Do the resistors need to be mounted in a breadboard or something similar?

Thanks

Simplest would be an ssr-v and a potentiometer. Then you just need power into the ssr and then a cable to the keggle element. The pot will control the ssr so you can dial in power to the element. That's how I do it.

Cyclone,
If it's this one:

You'll need 10AWG Wire for the S1, element and SSR. (30amp GFCI breaker)
For the PID controller, lamp, S2 & E-Stop, any small gauge will work. (1amp fuses)

I would solder the resistors together on a wire and cover them with shrink tubing. Not knowing your proposed setup, the 1A fuse holder lead would be a good spot.

Removed the extra http:// so your link will work. :D

'daKid nailed it. Wiring - there are a ton of charts out there, look at what amperage the wiring will be holding (as dictated by the fuse size, not by what amperage you think your equipment will pull). Then size wiring accordingly.

With the resistors - just solder them together and cover with heat shrink tubing to protect. Super easy.
