According to my father-in-law, at least. He had this for some reason and decided to donate it to my basement bar - much to his wife's relief. I'm not sure where it's going to go yet, but it's cool as hell.

Those two small bulbs? UV bulbs for "sanitizing the air". How cool :)

Way cool!

I remember as a kid seeing that sign in a restaurant we frequented outside of Chicago.

Beautiful shape, too. It looks new.

So apparently my father-in-law had a friend back in the 60's who worked for Ballantine's. In addition to the lamp above, he had two brand new bar trays for me - they've been sitting in his basement for 30+ years.

As an added bonus, they found this cool taphandle at a flea market in NYC this weekend and picked it up for me.

It's great to have in-laws who support your hobbies ;)
