Hi

I have been using a 48qt rubbermaid cooler and a SS braid for a mash tun. The braid is clamped directly to a 3/8"O.D. plastic tube that directly passes out through the coolers water drain.

It has worked OK but I feel I could control the volume of my vorlauf better with a ball valve. I need advice on the ball valve addition.

What size valve will I need? Must it be SS? Anybody have a good picture of their set up? Are these set ups pretty much the same from one cooler to the next?

Thanks

I'd go with one of the cooler fitting set-ups like the ones on this page. There are brass or stainless options (personally I prefer the stainless). The whole thing is pretty easy to install.
