Ok, I brewed an AHS Bavarian Hefeweizen last Thursday...

I had commented on how low the SG was (1.030) instead of 1.050

This was my first AG with my new keggle, and IC.....

So anyway, I cracked it open to check the gravity, and whew!! The smell was rank and nasty....

It did smell up the place when it started fermenting, but I had read about having the nasty smells from Hefe's......so I didn't think anything about it.I have been keeping the temp at around 69-70 degrees, so it never got to warm I don't think.

I tasted it, and it just does not tasted good at all...pretty nasty as a matter of fact.

doesns't look like it is infected or anything.Gravity reading was 1.018

Any comments on what to do besides RDWHAHB?

Thanks

Chad

hey man sad fact of life is that heffes smell like rotten eggs some times, the sulphur can be overpowering in the bottle as well. Just let it sit till the smell is gone.
