Hello all,
I have a new to me RIMS brew rig with an Auber SYL-2362A2 PID controller.
I recently realized (the tough way) that my RIMS heating element is NOT wired to the same switch as the pump, like the seller informed me...
So, I inadvertently dry-fired my heating element and fried it. Along with that, I think I may have fried my PID. At first, I thought maybe it was just the temp probe wire, as it was touching the RIMS tube...I figured I'd order a new probe as well as the wire and test each...unfortunately, even with the new probe and
wire, my display still reads EEEE. Is it possible that I've fried the PID itself? I find it hard to believe that I could fry the controller just by overheating the probe. Thoughts?
