Are these crabapples safe to use?

Hey all, I plan to use some crabapples To mix in my cider this year. I’m unsure if some that I’m seeing are safe to use?

Looks like apple scan to me. It shouldn't effect the inside of the apple or the taste.
I would maybe peel off the scabs before grinding and pressing though.
 
Quick update, got about 15 lbs of crabs and 30 of regular ( I don’t know the variety?) apples using a very professional homemade picker. A good haul for my first year I’d say! Next steps are to freeze, thaw, mash, and ferment.

That picker is an awesome idea! Does anyone know whether using something like that would be frowned upon at a u-pick orchard? We're going apple picking next weekend and I'd like to bring one along if it'd be okay.

Shouldn't be a problem, although you might get a few stares. They would just be jealous they didn't think of making their own picker.
