Apfelwine Headspace?

Hi guys I want to make Edworts apfelwine for the first time and only have 6g glass carboy and his recipe recommends a 5g carboy. Will the extra 1g of headspace effect anything??

If the headspace is an issue how much extra apple juice or sugar should be added to keep the same abv and taste profile if I top up the volume to 6g?

You'll be ok. CO2 will fill that headspace pretty quickly. If you want, you could always add more apple juice and sugar to fill your carboy a little bit more. You could use an extra 3/4 gallon of juice and add a couple extra cup or 2 of sugar.
