Is anyone using Bayou Classic kettles? I have a 16G Bayou Classic and I am happy with it. Yeah, it's a bit thin, but the price was right and I like it.

I'm wondering what anyone using one uses for a dip tube. Are there any dip tube fittings sold for Bayou Classic? Does anyone have any picture of their Bayou Classic set up?

Currently, I use a street elbow pointed straight down. It allows me to get close to the bottom of the kettle, but I think a pick up coming from the SIDE would be better. Looking for ideas on what others have used.

Thanks!

I've got both these types installed and both work exactly as they should do, I did modify the Spike so it's much shorter and picks up from the sides. BOTH of them realize about 50ml of wasted wort (My kettles are tilted very slightly towards the pickups to minimize waste)

The silicon gaskets from the big-dipper is also being used for my HERMS as well (see review on homebrewsupply)

Thanks Floppy! Have any pictures of your kettle and setup?

In my Bayou Classic 10 gal kettle I used a 1/2" copper male adapter soldered a short piece of 1/2" copper tubing to a 1/2" elbow and threaded it to the stainless coupling on the back of the valve. The piece of tube that goes to the sidewall is not soldered so I can thread the elbow on and then attach the tube and push it down.
