My turkey fryer came with one of these.... anyone using it when adding their whole-leaf hops vs. the paint bags or other items? This seems simple and requires zero dollars/effort from a DIY perspective. Any drawbacks that I am not seeing?

I have never tried but but I would assume the holes are too big, especially when using pellets.

Not referencing pellets, more concerned with cones and whole leaf...

Holes would still be too big. The cones tend to break apart during a vigorous boil and would just pass through the holes without getting blocked.

Neat idea though.
