Looking at 14mm hose. Wondering if anyone currently uses with camlock/pump setup.

Sure why not? As long as the wall is 3mm. Use the oversized barbs like the big C.

Slightly off topic, I see the advantage of using the Big C's on the pump's inlet side. How critical is that larger size for the outlet if it's paired with a 2 pc ball valve for flow adjustment?

Assuming you ever run the output valve wide open, that's where the Big C would matter.
