Can one use one of these as both a wort aerator and a carbonation stone? Aerate in place? Or would it be better to stir the wort with the wand to aerate and then install it prior to fermenting so I can carbonate after removing all the trub?

I am thinking of this method for fermenting in a converted Sanke keg (such as the one from www.synergymetalworking.com/ ) and trying to simulate professional uni-tanks as much as possible. I'd like to use one vessel for everything and then just rack into cornies for serving only (or not even... just to free up my fermenter, but don't have to if I want to have tons of beer on hand for some reason?!? .

thats similar to what I was thinking of using it for. I dont see why it wouldnt work.
My consern is with the stone getting gumed up with trub
