Hey all, I live in GA, and about 6 months ago, places around here started selling Bells. Just about every bottle of Bells I have bought thus far including Oberon, Best Brown, Third Coast, Pale Ale etc have always had so much yeast in suspension that the beer was tainted by a thorough yeasty flavor. My question is, do people in other areas experience the same issue, or is it the local handlers?

Hmmm.... I usually get a fair amount at the bottom of the bottle, but never had a problem with it making it's way into my glass...

I've actually had to do a bit of swirling to get it to come off the bottle when trying to harvest it.

Has Bell's porter, stout, old ale, and a few others and I only remember a lot of yeast in the old ale (but that's because it's 10.2 percent).

I pour to the shoulder, so if there is any yeast I leave it behind. But I've never noticed bell's to be overly yeastie. Maybe because they are "local" so they don't travel as far to my stores.

But even the yeastiest beer SHOULD flocculate out if you chill it long enough.

I will try pouring to the shoulder, but I doubt even that will help, many of the bottles I have poured look like slurries with clumps of yeast suspended through out. Its a shame too, I feel like I am missing out on some good brews...

I had this in a Third Coast Ale. It had been sitting for a while too (after being bootlegged into CO!). Didn't bother me much, but there were a lot of little flocs swimming around.

Mine was in there for about a week. No problem w/the Kalamazoo, Expedition, Oberon, or others.

I've encountered the same thing will Bell's beers on multiple occasions. I posted a topic about it a while back

Does that look like what you're seeing?

I don't think it's yeast, because I let the Bell's Pale Ale sit in the fridge for a couple weeks and the issue was still present; also I didn't pick up on a yeasty flavor. My guess is it's some of the break material.
