My company (http://www.nvidia.com) is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist for the local office here. Job description is as follows (sorry if the formatting comes out weird... I'm just cutting and pasting from an email I just got):

DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST #699692

Customer Service: Ensures user needs are met in a timeframe dictated by the customer. Directs users to others in the group when responsibilities are outside of immediate responsibilities, but follows up to ensure customer has been taken care of. Oversees Desktop responsibility of MIS Help Requests. Ensures all tickets are responded to and closed in a timely manner following the IAW published metrics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Purchasing and Equipment Distribution to local and remote offices
- Monitor PC equipment flow within facility so PC equipment is re-utilized
- Maintain inventories of PC hardware and software
- PC Administration: Provides support, installation of hardware/software and recommendations on PC platform. Provides quick response and maximum uptime of all users and performs end-user training when necessary
- Be actively involved in coordinating and testing automatic software patching and configuration tools
- Discuss with users the best practices for PC maintenance and performance
- Primary IT Contact for offices located in the East Coast
- Supporting an assigned customer base, must create a high level of user satisfaction through accurate timely follow up, strong technical skills, good customer communication and relationship building
- Windows Server 2003 and Exchange 2003 knowledge to do administration and properly route requests to the appropriate group
- Networking TCP/IP knowledge to properly route requests to the appropriate group
- Must collaborate with other IT personnel/departments for escalation, knowledge transfer, joint tasks and to establish standards, procedures and projects

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of working experience in a remote office
- Windows XP and Office 2003 experience is a must
- Support experience within an AD environment
- Support experience with Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003
- Experience with internal and external ITIL standards and methodologies desired
- WAN/LAN and Remote Access (VPN) Knowledge
- Ability to effectively multi-task in a high-activity, high-performance atmosphere.
- Experience with Symantec Ghost
- Must be able to travel throughout the year
- MCSE and SMS a plus
- Knowledge of creating custom Windows XP install and custom software install a plus
 
If I was able to relocate it would be nice. I know my wife would like it since it's closer to Camp Lejeune where our daughter is. However my side of the family is keeping me here so I can't move. Would be nice though, get me into Nascar country so I know all my friends would come visit. :D
 
Not me, but I happen to be looking for pretty much that same position in Tucson...

Sounds like a lot of compelling reasons?! Both are only about 3 hrs away...
 
Wow. Sounds perfect.

Now I just need a good reason to move to NC...
