Title pretty much says it all, I will be in Louisville, KY in a couple weeks for a party and I was hoping to fill up a corny of a good local microbrew, prefer a Pale Ale or IPA. Looking for suggestions.

hmmm, you pretty much have BBC, Cumberland, Brownings and New Albanian brewing company. i've been to the first three, but i hear good things about new albanian. I go to BBC often, but i dont care for their APA that much, never seen an IPA on tap there. Brownings has a good IPA and Cumberland has some good beers.

do places fill up corny's? thats good to know when i start kegging! haha. other then those places, a few bar's on Bardstown Rd. have a good selection of beers to pick from. Flanagan's usually has a special beer on tap every thursday and i'm on the mailing list, send me PM when your close and i'll let you know what they have on tap.

so what will you be doing in town? hope you enjoy your time here. i've been just over a year and really like it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will call some of them and are if they will fill a keg for me. Some places will fill a sanitized keg no problem, but I don't think they all do. I will be visiting my folks for a few days. I grew up there and my parents moved back a few years ago

Some places will and some won't. I went to a brew pub in Providence and they would not fill mine. It all depends in their liquor license. At this place, the license only allowed them to sell beer for consumption in house or in growlers to go. They cannot fill a container larger than a 1/2 gallon growler without being in violation of their license. Other state laws may be different.

Well if anyone else is in the Louisville area the St. Matthew's area Bluegrass Brewing Co. has a really nice setup for filling corny kegs. They took me back into their serving room while they filled two of mine, and at 30-35 each its a pretty good deal. You can read a little more about their setup in my blog.

GOOD DEAL! when i start kegging i might have to get a keg or two filled by them if i dont have anything ready to keg. so what beers did you get kegged?
