I have an Anvil Foundry electric system. I've brewed 4 batches so far. On the last batch the lid seal fell out when the the kettle was heating up to a boil. I leave the lid half on during the boil since at 110 I don't get a rolling boil. The steam and/or heat must have expanded the silicone lid seal and it fell out. It won't stay in with that much heat/steam. When it cooled down the lid seal stayed in. What can/should I use to adhere the seal to the lid so it stays on during that much heat/steam?

Mine has never come out, but I have heard that others just don't worry about it--it's not needed for most

Old thread - I had this problem with mine. It fell out every single time. I glued it in with good old Elmer’s school glue. We know its food safe, how many kids ate Elmer’s? That was a couple years ago. Hasn’t fallen out since.

How do you clean it with it being glued in?

Mine always falls out too. It usually happens half way through the mash. It's really not needed as others have mentioned. I always build my water the night before and then set the timer so my strike water is heated and ready to go when I wake up. I only put the seal in to close it up over night, but once it falls out during that mash, I just toss it in the sink and leave it out for the remainder of my brew day.

I ended up using food grade silicone lubricant. It has stayed on.
Bringing an oldie back up. I’ve had it I use my gasket for Bobbie’s steam slayer and then cip and I spent about 20 minutes fighting the damn gasket. Has anvil come up with a good replacement yet? I can’t image folks with the 10 gallon model still fight this thing. I grabbed an extra ss brewtech lid and it works but latches are a bit stressed. Only bad thing is my cip ball is too short now with the domed lid.
Thanks
