I don't know if I am the only person that has this annual event, but right around this time of year I end up with a number of partial bags of crushed grains. I typically have about 10-12# of base malt, crystals, and others combined. I just get everything together and do a mash at about 155*, but use saison yeast to at least say I am brewing a farmhouse recipe..

Does anybody else have an annual witches brew?? Anything regular in the brew??

I look at it as though it is better than tossing the grains...
Spices, Hops, & Zest along with the Saison yeast will always make something I can drink... :p

This is the time of year, the new hops start coming in, so I "kitchen sink" a brew day or two using up last years hops. It's fun to see what happens. last 12 gallons had 23oz of hops fired at it.
