May I request suggestions for suitable numbers? Would I want the chloride up a bit to emphasize the malt character? Not sure how to go about this first time brew.

I was just discussing the Chloride/Sulfate balance for a Cali Commons with fellow brewer, Mongoose33.
I had worked up my numbers and these match exactly with his. We agree on 91 Chlorides and 77 Sulfates. I think this will be safe for you @hellesyeah.
